If a lender dies, we are able in some circumstances to transfer the lender’s account into another person’s name. We will comply with all reasonable requests provided by the legal personal representative in respect of an estate regarding a deceased lender’s account.
If a borrower dies, their loan contract still stands. Once we have received a certified copy of their death certificate, we’ll seek to provide the legal representative of their estate with the relevant details of the loan and the settlement figure. The borrower’s legal representative can either pay the outstanding amount in full, or set up a new direct debit and continue monthly payments.
